Holidays in the United Kingdom in March
1st - St. David's Day in the UK.
People in Wales and those of Welsh origin celebrate the life of their patron saint, St David, and the Welsh culture on March 1 each year. Many people pin a daffodil or leek to their clothes and some, especially children, wear traditional costumes.
1st - Carnival/Ash Wednesday in the United Kingdom
Many Christian churches in the United Kingdom observe Ash Wednesday as the first day of Lent. It is the day after Shrove Tuesday. Shrove Tuesday is the last day before the fast for the Lent period. It is also known as Pancake Tuesday or Pancake Day.
1st - Fun Holiday – World Compliment Day
It is celebrated as World Compliment Day, a day that aims to address the “basic human need for recognition and appreciation.”Started in the Netherlands by Hans Poortvliet in 2001, the day is now celebrated in many European countries including Norway and Belgium.
12th - Purim in the United Kingdom
Many Jewish communities in the United Kingdom mark Purim as the date to remember the Jewish people’s deliverance from a royal death decree around the fourth century BCE, as told in the Book of Esther. It's usually celebrated on the 14th day of the month of Adar in the Jewish calendar, which is in February or March in the Gregorian calendar.
15th- Fun Holiday – Everything You Think is Wrong Day
The unofficial holiday is a gentle reminder that we are all imperfect. It prompts us to accept that there are a lot of things we are wrong about and encourages us to spend some time correcting them.
16th - Fun Holiday – Every Thing You Do is Right Day
It is an unofficial holiday that encourages people to believe that no matter what happened before today, everything they do on this day will turn out great.
We all need positive reinforcements from time to time and what better way to bring positivity in our lives by celebrating this reaffirming holiday?
17th - St Patrick's Day in the United Kingdom
St Patrick's Day occurs on March 17. It is a national holiday in Ireland and commemorates one of its patron saints, St Patrick. In the United Kingdom, it is celebrated in Irish pubs and in cities, such as Nottingham and London where many people with an Irish background live.
26th - Mothering Sunday in the United Kingdom
Mothering Sunday, sometimes known as Mother's Day, is held on the fourth Sunday of Lent. It is exactly three weeks before Easter Sunday and usually falls in the second half of March or early April. Mother's Day, or Mothering Sunday, is now a day to honor mothers and other mother figures, such as grandmothers, stepmothers and mothers-in-law. Many people make a special effort to visit their mother. They take cards and gifts to her and may treat her to brunch, lunch or high tea in a cafe, restaurant or hotel. People who cannot visit their mother usually send gifts or cards to her.

Выражения для дискуссии, спора.
What for? — Зачем?
Let's drop the subject — Давай оставим эту тему
Let's clear it up — Давай разберёмся.
What are you talking about? — О чём ты!
What are you driving at? — К чему ты клонишь?
That's not the point — Это не относится к вопросу
It doesn't prove a thing — Это ничего не доказывает
That's very well, but — Это всё очень хорошо, но…
So what? — Ну и что?
You can take it from me — Можешь мне поверить
What of it? — И что из этого?
I have no idea — Понятия не имею
Ask me another — Спроси что полегче!
I wish I knew — Хотел бы я знать!
I don’t care — Меня не волнует
It doesn’t matter — Это не важно
It's all the same to me — Мне без разницы
It's up to you — Решай сам
It's beside the point — Это не относится к вопросу
Use your own judgement — Решай сам
It' s none of your business — Не твоё дело
Mind one's own business — Занимайся своим делом
I don’t give a fig / I don't give a shit / I don't give a damn — Не знаю
It's out of place — Это неуместно
It's waste of time — Это трата времени
It's a lie — Это ложь
It doesn't make sense — Это не имеет смысла
It's new to me — Первый раз слышу
Enough of it — Довольно об этом
I mean it! — Я серьёзно
Let's drop the subject — Давай оставим эту тему
